Laser treatment for removal of capillaries

Enlarged capillaries or telangiectasia are permanently enlarged and visible tiny blood vessels in the surface areas of the skin. They are manifested in the form of linear, dotty and starry red or purple changes, from 0.5 to 1 mm in diameter.

Enlarged capillaries can occur in any parts of the body, but are most commonly seen on the face, around the nose, cheeks and the beard.

Laser can fully remove enlarged capillaries and venules on the face, spider like (arachnoids) capillaries, hemangiomas.

It takes 2 or 3 treatments every 4 to 6 weeks to achieve optimal results. In the place of the treated capillary a redness and a mild swelling can be present and last anywhere from 2 hours up to about 2 days.

It is absolutely important for skin not to be sun bathed before the laser treatment, because the efficiency of the treatment is decreased and the risk of potential unwanted skin reactions is increased. It is necessary to avoid sun exposure 3 weeks before and after the treatment.
